The third Biodiversity Youth Symposium will be held at the National Zoo in Pretoria on 4 August 2012 to coincide with National Science Week. This year's theme is "Sustainable Energy for All".
Learners are invited to register and submit abstracts. The best abstracts will be selected for oral presentations. Learners may still register and attend the symposium without doing presentations. The deadline for abstracts and registration is 20 July. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Learners will be competing for the following exciting prizes:
First prize: A science-related prize to the value of R2 500 for the learner and a camera to the value of R2 500 for the learner's school.
Second prize: A science-related prize to the value of R1 500 for the learner and a printer to the value of R1 500 for the learner's school.
Third prize: A science-related prize to the value of R750 for the learner and a scientific calculator to the value of R750 for the learner's school.
