20 December 2017 - In the true spirit of giving the National Zoological Gardens of South Africa will be presenting some edible gifts to some lucky animals. The gift-giving will take the form of environmental enrichment activities.

ONE HEALTH FOCUS ON AVIAN INFLUENZA
14 November 2017 - The National Zoological Gardens of South Africa (NZG) hosted the Gauteng Province One Health workshop on 14 November 2017. The workshop consisted of provincial government officials, university professionals and staff of zoological gardens to discuss the current outbreak of avian influenza.

NZG MD JOINS THE NATIONAL RESEARCH FOUNDATION
1 November 2017 - After more than ten years at the National Zoological Gardens of South Africa as its Managing Director, Dr Clifford Nxomani has resigned to take up a position at the National Research Foundation. From 1 November 2017 he will take on the role of Deputy Chief Executive Officer: National Research Infrastructure Platforms.

SUMMER BIRTHS A-PLENTY!
23 October 2017 - Summer is in full swing at the National Zoological Gardens of South Africa and with it comes the births of plains zebra foal, twin urial sheep lambs and a ring-tailed lemur youngster.

BOO AT THE ZOO!
19 October 2017 - Halloween is here and eerie, but cheery fun and amusement awaits both young and old at the National Zoo in Pretoria. A zoo-takular day is planned for 4 November 2017 from 10am when goblins, ghosts and princesses of all ages can enjoy the boo at the zoo.

NZG TAKES PREVENTATIVE MEASURES AGAINST AVIAN FLU
6 October 2017 - The National Zoological Gardens of South Africa is taking preventative measures against the recent outbreak of avian influenza in areas neighbouring Pretoria. There have been no cases of the virus found at the NZG.
