Visiting hours
The Zoo is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Tickets are sold from 08:30 to 16:30 daily and the Zoo closes at 17:30.

Entrance fees
The entrance fee includes a visit to the Aquarium and Reptile Park, as well as the Zoo.
Adults: R60
Children (2-15): R40
Organised school groups: R25 (Monday to Wednesday)
Organised school groups: R35 (Thursday and Friday)
School tariffs are not applicable during the school holidays, public holidays or weekends.

For the hungry
The cafeteria has a wide variety of delicious take-aways and four kiosks offer snacks. The restaurant also provides sit down meals. There are numerous picnic spots located throughout the Zoo where you can relax in the shade of giant trees. Braai facilities are available at the picnic area located next to the Apies River.

Parking
Ample, secure parking is available opposite and at the main entrance of the National Zoological Gardens of South Africa and on the corner of Paul Kruger and Boom Streets. Security staff are on duty at all parking facilities for your peace of mind. Parking fees are R20 per vehicle.

Golf carts
Golf carts are available for rent at R80 per hour or R150 for two hours.

Children's pushcarts
Children's pushcarts are available for rent at a cost of R40 for a single-seater for the day and R60 for a double-seater for the day.

Ride the Zoo Choo-Choo
The Zoo Choo-Choo Tractor Train takes you on rides through parts of the Zoo.

Cableway
The cableway operates from 10:00 - 16:15, Monday to Sunday. Ticket prices:
Adults: R10 (one-way), R20 (return)
Children: R8 (one-way), R10 (return)
School groups: R8 (return)
